I've heard of the Ppsh being a very desireable weapon due to is robustness and drum mag but not the sten. Considering how unpopular it could be with British troops I'm surprised the Germans valued them that much. I guess it would come down to personal preferecne as troops from all sides tried to get hold of different weapons from the enemy.

The other upside for the Germans was the fact that the Sten and the MP40 used the same ammo, i suspect. With the PPSh, they would have to forage ammo.

Grass is always greener...

You get to hate your own kit and think everybody elses is better as you havnt trained wiht it and found the annoying bits on it yet.

You just know it was bloody hard to hit that guy firing at you from behind that rubble i guess!

Surprised me too but its first hand combat report by a wehrmacht soldier who refers to people trying to steal stens.

I`ve got Skorzenys biography where he states that he was sending London false radio messages to try to get them to drop a bundle of silenced stens to him....I believe he succeeded a couple of times then some bright spark must`ve cottoned on that the messages were false and the drops stopped. :)

well, the weekend is here wife is away :-) and work on my mp40 project begins in earnest.....
watch this space, in keeping with the semi fantastic theme of Wotan I have decided to play the part of Doktor Heinz von Plattentrappen, leader of the team of scientists that is at the forefront of wuderwaffen development. Coupled with the scientific knowledge of how to travel in time we are developing a superweapon to defeat the invading foreign powers.......!?

Wolfenstein 3d was one of the first games I got for a PC back in 1992 - I illegally installed it on my works compaq desktop - i386 !!

I guess it was the seed for many of my later PC games - a classic. Also had/have somewhere Spear of Destiny

You need to replace the scope with a red-dot and the fire selector switch is a bit anachronistic lol.

Otherwise, excellent effort.
